Brrr........ where did the summer go and how did November get here? It was just yesterday that I walked out the door in the mornings and it was warm and sunny. Not much difference now.... it's cold and sunny! But, I love this Indian Summer time of year!

I woke up several weeks ago and heard something familiar that I haven't heard in a while.... the horn section of the Mighty Lee Rebel marching band practicing. I knew immediately that school was almost in session and the wheels on the bus will be going round and round. What a great sound, the band serenading me, cutting through all the clutter in my head. Every August for the last 10 years I've wakened to that music and I immediately know that no matter what craziness is going on in the world, everything is still alright. And it is.

One of my favorite songs in the world is a Jimmy Buffett song "The Rockets in the Air and the people everywhere, put away their differences for a while. Oh, I am still a child, when it comes to something wild, oh that was the night, I painted the sky." It is a great song about the time Jimmy Buffett got to shoot the big fireworks (like at Firecracker fandango). I can picture kids running around with their eyes wide open amazed at the beautiful sight of fireworks!
